The Faculty of Accounting and Economics was established in September 1947.
The faculty trains professionals in higher education under bachelor and master programs in accounting, control, analysis, audit and taxation.
Over the years of its existence, the faculty has trained more than 10 thousand specialists. At present, almost 500 students study at the faculty.
The curriculum has the most advanced disciplines which provides specialists with knowledge on the effectiveness of the use of new and traditional forms of management.
The training of specialists has two levels:
- undergraduate students (4 years) receive high-quality training in general and professional disciplines, including accounting, financial and managerial accounting, accounting features in various branches of the economy, features of small business accounting, accounting in state institutions, accounting and reporting in management, accounting and reporting in the tax system, tax risks, accounting in foreign countries, accounting in the field of foreign economic activity, bases of сontrol, audit, information systems and technologies in accounting and auditing, organization and method of economic accounting and reporting in the tax system, tax risks, accounting in foreign countries, accounting in the field of foreign economic activity, bases of control, audit, information systems and technologies in accounting and auditing, organization and method of economic analysis, analytical substantiation of making management decisions, and others. Prepare and defend final work;
- In the magistracy, students gain knowledge of: organization of accounting in the enterprise, strategic management accounting, qualitative reporting, internal audit, ISA-based audit methodology, IFRS, financial and strategic analysis of enterprises, determination of their effectiveness of activities, tax planning, professional ethics, etc. . There are interdisciplinary trainings on the specialty using the software 1С: Enterprise, production, pre-diploma practice, defend reports and master’s work.
After completing their studies, students receive a state-recognized diploma and diploma supplement (to the European Diploma)
The best students of the faculty constantly go abroad for studying at universities of other countries, as well as take part in Work & Travel programs.
Graduates of our faculty are highly skilled professionals working in various economic field, namely: production, trade, construction, transport, banking and insurance, consulting, financial and fiscal systems, public administration, tourism, hotel and restaurant business, etc. They hold positions of chief accountants, financial directors, financial analysts, directors, experts in consulting and audit companies, specialists in fiscal services, pension funds, crisis managers, arbitration managers, etc.
Our graduates also work at our university and in other higher educational institutions of Ukraine and abroad.
Today, the Faculty of Accounting and Economics makes a significant contribution to the university’s scientific potential. It consists of five departments, which employ 75 teachers. Over 80% of the teaching staff have academic degrees and academic titles.
Departments of the faculty have broad ties with scientific institutions, enterprises, organizations, ministries. Actively engage in international activities by concluding agreements on cooperation with academic institutions abroad (Poland, Czech Republic, Georgia, Moldova, etc.), publish the results of scientific research in foreign publications.
There are postgraduate courses at faculty departments.
