ONEU announced today a new partnership with Washington State University(based in Pullman, Washington, USA) to improve their programs focused on economic and community development. Cooperate activities will focus on applied research, education and training, technology innovation and commercialization, and regional economic development. A special emphasis will be placed on tourism and hospitality management, the wine industry, partnering with local industry, and assisting government in creating and implementing strategies and programs that improve the business environment.
“By sharing capabilities, expertise, and experience, ONEU and WSU will contribute to their regions economic development while improving their teaching and practical research,”said Anatoly Kovalev, ONEU Rector. “We’ll be supporting existing businesses while creating new opportunities for our graduates, investors, and entrepreneurs.”Plans are for initial on-line programs to be followed by joint-research, student and faculty exchanges, study tours, workshops, and conferences.
Odessa National University of Economics is one of the leading universities in Ukraine, founded in 1921 with the aim of training highly qualified specialists in business and economics, conducting practical research, and assisting government leaders to address economic issues. Washington State University, established in 1890, has one of the oldest schools in hospitality business management and is currently ranked #2 the USA. Their programs include wine and beverage business management.
Beginning 10 February, representatives of ONEU Department of International Economic Relations will be participating in WSU’sonline training on International Relations & Global Leadership.
